Homework
After much research, I am trying something new. Homework will only consist of work that your student did not finish during the school day. The only formally assigned homework this school year will be to read for at least 20 minutes a day and practice math facts.
Research has been unable to prove that homework improves student performance. Rather, I ask that you spend your evenings doing things that are proven to correlate with student success. Eat dinner as a family, read together, play outside, and get your child to bed early.
Helpful homework tips:
- Schedule daily homework time. Most of us have very busy schedules and a set time for working on assignments will let your child know that schoolwork is a priority.
- Have a place at home for your child to work. It should be well-lit and quiet.
- Have pencils, sharpeners, scissors, glue, extra paper, and a ruler available.

Agendas
Agendas should be signed and returned each day. They may be signed by a parent, grandparent, babysitter, etc. I will check agendas in the morning. Each student is responsible for copying his/her assignments into the agenda.
