The Positivity Project
The Positivity Project, in its essence, is to create a culture of character in the school environment. It is based on the scientific study of positive psychology, which looks at 24 character strengths that all people have within themselves. They are not skills but rather an intrinsic part of each of us. Teaching our children the 24 character strengths, which make each of them special and unique, will empower them to understand that they make a difference in the lives of others and lead in their ability to have more successful and happier futures as they find their place in society.
The Positivity Project is not a program. Rather it educates teachers to the character strengths in each of us, then relies on them to teach their students in a way that best meets the needs of their students. The Positivity Project provides educators with the character strengths, definitions and a pool of resources that will help to implement positive psychology inside their classroom.

What are the benefits of using P2?
The Positivity Project ideals evolve through a student’s whole school career. The 24 character strengths develop and gain more meaning for students as they grow. Once students learn the meaning of each strength and what it looks like, they can then be embedded into the curriculum in every subject area. The character strengths become a part of a common language and they will see them in everything that they do.
